How to Create Quote Item?

You can add a quote item to a quote by following the steps below.

1.  Navigate to Quotes.

The Quotes page is displayed.

2.  Click the reference number of the quote you wish to add a new quote item.

The selected quote details page is displayed.

3.  Scroll down to the Quote Items tab.

4.  Click Create new quote item.

The Create quote item dialog is displayed.

Note:  All fields marked Required are mandatory.

5.  Select the type of item you wish to add from the Item type dropdown list.  The default options available are Part, Labour, Service, and Miscellaneous.
The item type is not displayed to the customer. 

Note:  You can manage the Item type dropdown list options by navigating to Settings > List management.  For more information, refer to How to Create/Edit List Management?

6.  Enter a description for the quote item in the Description textbox.
This information will be visible to the customer.

7.  Enter the quantity or number of hours required for the item in the Qty/Hours field.

8.  Enter the per unit or hour cost in the Cost per item field.
This information is not visible to the customer. 

9.  Enter the markup percentage needed to calculate the item price based on the item cost in the Item markup field. Alternatively, enter the per unit price of the item in the Price per item field.
This information is not visible to the customer. 

10.  Select the VAT rate for the item if you are VAT registered. To edit VAT rates please refer to How to Create/Edit VAT Rate?

11.  Check the box Add to repository if you want to add the item to the repository for future use. For more information, refer to How to Create Items in the Item Repository?

12.  Click Save changes.

The quote item is added.

Note:  You can also edit, sort, or delete the quote item.  To edit, click the Edit button in the row of the quote item and make changes.  To delete the quote item, click the Delete button and confirm the deletion. To change the order of items by dragging up and down using the Sort column.
