How to Create a Job Item?

You can create job items in a job by following the steps below. Job Items are used for adding things such as parts or labour to a job.


1.  Navigate to Jobs.  


The Jobs page is displayed.



2.  Click the reference number of the job to add job items.


The selected job details are displayed.



3.  Scroll down the Job Details page to Job Items.


4.  Click Create new job item.



Note:  All fields marked Required are mandatory.


5.  Select the type of item you wish to add from the Item type dropdown list.  The default options are Part, Labour, Service, and Miscellaneous.  You can manage the Item type dropdown list in Settings > List management.

6.  Enter the description for the item in the Description textbox.


7.  Enter the quantity or number of hours required for the item in the Qty/Hours field.


8.  Enter the unit cost of the item in the Cost per item field.
This value is not visible to the customer and it is only for you.


9.  Enter the percentage of markup in the Item Markup % field to calculate the item price based on the item cost. Alternatively, enter the unit price applicable to the item in the Price per item field.


10.  Select the VAT rate for the item if you are VAT registered.


11.  Check the box Add to repository to add the item to the repository for future use if needed. For more information, refer to How to Create Items in the Item Repository?


12.  Click Save changes.


The job item is added.



Note:  

  • You can add job items directly from the existing job items list in the repository.
  • You can also edit or delete the job item. To edit, click the Edit button in the row of the job item and make changes.  To delete the job item, click the Delete button and confirm the deletion.
