How to Assign Engineer(s) to a Job?

You can assign an engineer to a job by following the steps below.


1.  Navigate to Jobs.


The Jobs page is displayed.



2.  Click the reference number of the job to assign an engineer.


The selected job details page is displayed.



3.  Scroll down and click the Engineers tab.


The Engineers section is displayed.



4.  Click Add engineer(s) to job.


The Add engineer(s) to Job dialog is displayed.



5.  Select the engineer to whom the job needs to be assigned from the Engineer(s) dropdown list.   The engineers can view this job in their Job Sheet App.


Note:  

  • Only the users set as Engineers in their user record under Settings > Users will appear in the dropdown list. For more information, refer to How to Create/Edit Users?
  • You can add multiple engineers to the job that is created.


6.  Select the date and time when the engineer will be on the job from the Start date dropdown calendar and Time dropdown list or check the box All day respectively. 


7.  Set the date and time when the engineer will finish the job from the End date dropdown calendar and Time dropdown list respectively. 


8.  Check the box Customer reminder if you would like the customer to receive an email reminder a day prior to commencing the job.  


9.  Check the box Engineer notification if the assigned engineer should be notified regarding the job through the Job Sheet App.


10.  Select when the notification has to be sent to the engineers from the Send dropdown list.  


If Send immediately option is selected, the notification is sent immediately to the engineers but if the Send on option is selected, set the date and time when the notification should be sent.


11.  Click Save changes.


The engineer(s) is added to the job.



Note: You can also edit or delete the engineer(s) assigned to a job.  To edit, click the Edit button in the row of the engineer and make changes.  To delete the engineer, click the Delete button and confirm the deletion.


Note: Only the Primary engineer on a job is able to edit certain fields such as Actual Work Done, Recommendations, Job Items. This is to prevent changes made by one engineer overwriting another engineers changes resulting in data loss, you can change the Primary engineer on a job at any point using the Primary engineer dropdown (this dropdown only shows if more than one engineer is assigned to a job).
